Educational Mission Statment The Education Unit of the Clanranald Trust is highly committed to providing an exemplary and balanced educational service to schools, after school clubs, various community groups, workshops and the general public. We provide a unique perspective on historical events and social changes from the past, through interactive education and entertainment, and aim to actively contribute to national, regional and local educational initiatives. The Clanranald Trust believes history should be immediate and accessible for all and we endeavour to transport people into the authentic atmosphere of various historical periods. Stimulating direct engagement in activities, provoking questions and challenging historical facts, whilst at the same time ensuring participants have as much fun as possible!! I made a mistake it is the BEST trip EVER, My Favourite part was when you dressed pupils up, passed the swords round and showed us how to fight. It was so realistic." Film props & Film stars! It is Clanranald’s pleasure to allow students to view our wide range of film props from over 80 productions that we have been involved in (Braveheart, Ivanhoe, Gladiator, etc). A large majority of our education assistants have also starred in these movies and will be happy to talk about their experiences on set. Follow up visit! Encouraged by our first visit, our Education Officer can return once your project's have been completed to test pupil knowledge. Our activities restore history to life for pupils, while they are structured in a way to help and support teaching staff. We cover a wide range of subjects from the curriculum and deliver our services in a fun environment which actively encourages pupils to express their abilities and build self confidence.
