After much demand we have been pressured into the re-release of Esspee the first album.
New look and re-mastered disc should satisfy many of our old fans and new ones alike.
Track List
- T.F.T (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
A tune that is heard in many guises and at varying tempos. One that sticks with us from our first piping occasion. So much so that we ended up naming it "That Fekin Tune."
- Weramur (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
Composed and named in September 2000 in an old hill fort under Scheihallion, near Kinloch Rannoch. The song was inspired by our location and surroundings, the bonfire, the Clan camp with its tents, and bairns running around in the half dark. When I asked a friend for a suitable name he looked at the Mountain and said weramur. Thank you Tubardh.
- T.O.F.T. (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
A mixture of a couple of fine tunes that we still enjoy playing today and has a hint of the traditional tune Moonshine.
- Mood Moons (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
A tune I know I’ve heard somewhere on my travels but not to bagpipe music. A haunting tune. One that the drummers suggested they leave alone.
- Lost Song (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
A tune we came up with out of the blue while performing live on stage with Hazel O Conner during the Edinburgh Festival. We had no rehearsal time, we just jumped in and had a good time. After the festival we forgot how the tune went. We were gutted as it was so off the cuff, and a buzz for the band. A year later it returned during rehearsals. Now we just refer to it as the Lost Song and the song that inspired it was about a young Irish girl running back to her fathers garden to seek refuge.
- Slowstarter (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
A bit of messing around here with well known pipe tunes, but that is where we were coming from at that time, experimenting with different kinds of music, not just bagpipe music, and incorporating the tunes into our style.
- Pottytime (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
Varying the tempo can be fun, especially when you come up with perky little numbers like this. Input on the snare brought the pipes out and this is the result.
- Dalriada (Composed / Arranged by C. Allan / Drum Arrangement Johnston)
When we pump out this primal beat we see people jumping and dancing to this one. One of our favorites, this track demonstrates our versatility.
